While our generation loves the romanticism of letters sent to peers, this generation of technology natives is in full force of normalcy when it comes to understanding even the most basic events happening cross the globe. In other words, children around the world interact on a daily bases with one another and demonstrate our humanity in commonalities. Inside jokes that are told on the Youtube platform are shared with kids in South Africa and South Korea. They no longer have to wait for feature films to reach their local theaters. I recall in the 90s how the artist known as 2Pac had reached the most rural areas of the world as was amazed at the feat. Today, this generation most certainly laugh at my thought. Yet it is a good thing. It shows how far we have come in terms of interconnectedness. No one knows how far we will go with this, but I am more than willing to let the younger generation take charge given the current socio-political climate and biases around the world due to older generations lack of globalization awareness.
